Waterloo is situated in the province of Brabant, 16 km south of Brussels.
A French army under the command of Napoleon Bonaparte was defeated by two of the armies of the Seventh Coalition: an Anglo-allied army under the command of the Duke of Wellington, and a Prussian army under the command of Field Marshal Blücher. The site is very well preserved and 7 battlefield attractions and museums make you relive the historic day of June 18th, 1815.
Do you want to see the fields where the Battle of Waterloo was fought? I will show you the different locations and tell you the stories of the battles.
Do you want to see Napoleon's last headquarters beford the battle? We will visit the building when you book this tour.
Wellington's headquarter is now a museum. We will visit it at the end of our tour.
Itinerary
Pick up at the hour of your choice at the cruise terminal of Zeebrugge or Antwerp or at your hotel in Brussels or in a radius of 100 kms (60 miles) of Brussels.
Drive to Waterloo and visit
• The 1815 Memorial Museum with panorama and a climb of the mound
• Hougoumont Farm
• Lunch
• Napoleon's last headquarters
• Drive through the village of Plancenoit
• Drive past the barn La Belle Alliance where Blucher and Wellington met after the battle
• Mont Saint Jean Farm, Wellington's field hospital
• The Wellington Museum
You are brought back to the cruise terminal of Zeebrugge or Antwerp or to your hotel in Brussels or in a radius of 100 kms (60 miles) of Brussels.
